Helping teachers, schools, and districts bridge the gap between reading science and classroom practice — so every struggling reader can thrive.

The Challenge
Decades of reading science have given us clear answers about how students learn to read. That knowledge has finally — only recently — reached educators widely. But awareness is far easier than application. Knowing better isn't automatically translating to doing better, and struggling readers are paying the price every day that gap exists.
The challenge isn't a lack of information. It's the distance between what research says and what confidently, consistently happens in classrooms — especially when curriculum materials don't align with best practices and teachers are already stretched thin.
"The science of reading finally reached educators. I help make sure it reaches every student."

About Kristen
Kristen Renner is a structured literacy specialist, educator, and entrepreneur with over a decade of experience transforming how schools and families understand and support dyslexic learners.
She is the founder of Happy Camper Learning Services and Renner Academy — the only school in the Brazos Valley dedicated exclusively to students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. What began as a one-person tutoring practice grew into a fully operational nonprofit school, built without a roadmap and driven entirely by the belief that every child deserves a teacher who understands how their brain works.
Kristen now works with schools, districts, and educators to bridge the gap between reading science and classroom practice. Her focus is practical: helping teachers implement structured literacy confidently — using curriculum they already have, without adding to their load. She also helps educators and schools explore how emerging AI tools can support diverse learners ethically and effectively.
